ListPostCode Guide: 8-Digit Format, Lookup & How to Find Yours
Complete guide to List Post Codes (zip codes): the 8-digit format, what each digit means, province codes, and how to find or lookup your code.

Cambodia's postal code system is a crucial part of the country's infrastructure, enabling efficient mail delivery and supporting e-commerce. In this guide you'll learn how the 8-digit format works, how to read and use it, and how to find your postal code (or zip code) quickly.
What Is a List Post Code?
A postal code is a series of numbers that identifies a specific geographic area for mail and parcel delivery. In Cambodia, postal codes consist of 8 digits issued by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications. They cover the capital, provinces, districts, communes, and villages and help postal workers and couriers route mail accurately.
The 8-Digit Format: XX YY ZZ VV
The code is split into four pairs of digits, each matching a level of the administrative hierarchy:
- First 2 digits (XX): Province or municipality. E.g. 12 = Phnom Penh Capital, 01 = Banteay Meanchey, 02 = Battambang, 03 = Kampong Cham, 17 = Siem Reap.
- Next 2 digits (YY): District (khan in Phnom Penh, srok in provinces).
- Next 2 digits (ZZ): Commune (sangkat in Phnom Penh, khum in provinces).
- Last 2 digits (VV): Village (phum).
Example: 12300201
For a location in Phnom Penh’s Khan Chamkar Mon, Sangkat Boeng Keng Kang 1, Village 01:
- 12 = Phnom Penh
- 30 = Khan Chamkar Mon
- 02 = Sangkat Boeng Keng Kang 1
- 01 = Village 01
So 12300201 is the full 8-digit postal code for that village.
Province and Capital Prefixes
Each province and the capital has a fixed two-digit prefix. The remaining six digits complete the district, commune, and village codes.
- 01 = Banteay Meanchey | 02 = Battambang | 03 = Kampong Cham | 04 = Kampong Chhnang
- 05 = Kampong Speu | 06 = Kampong Thom | 07 = Kampot | 08 = Kandal
- 09 = Koh Kong | 10 = Kratie | 11 = Mondul Kiri | 12 = Phnom Penh Capital
- 13 = Preah Vihear | 14 = Prey Veng | 15 = Pursat | 16 = Ratanak Kiri
- 17 = Siem Reap | 18 = Preah Sihanouk | 22 = Kep | 23 = Pailin | 24 = Oddar Meanchey
